Classifications:

 

 

·         Standard – most aged care residents including full pensioners and some part-pensioners with low incomes (less than $360 per fortnight).

 

 

·         Phased – residents who entered care after 20 September 2009 and are pensioners with higher incomes above the income free threshold (more than $360 per fortnight) and self-funded retirees.

 

 

·         Protected - residents who entered care before 20 September 2009 and are pensioners with higher incomes above the income free threshold (more than $360 per fortnight) and self-funded retirees.

 

 

·         Non-standard – residents who entered aged care prior to 20 March 2008, who are not pensioners, or who agreed to pay a large accommodation bond or those who did not disclose their financial information.
