Aged Care Homes guide

Fees as at 20 March 2011 

Classifications:

·         Standard – most aged care residents including full pensioners and some part-pensioners with low incomes (single pensioners with private income less than $383.50 per fortnight or couples with less than $365.50 per fortnight each).

·         Phased – residents who entered care after 20 September 2009 and are pensioners with higher incomes above the income-free threshold (more than above private income amounts) and self-funded retirees.

Resident status:

·         Fully-supported resident:    assets less than $39,000

·         Partially-supported resident:   assets between $39,001 and $102,544

·         Non-supported resident:      assets greater than $102,544
